I was very concerned about the state of Mexican food in Portland. The restaurants I'd tried on visits were just kinda bland. Happily, I discovered Pepita's. The interior of the Beaverton location is chock-full of color and decorations, the staff are friendly (and Spanish-speaking), the menu extensive and interesting, and the food tasty.
I had my usual: a beef taco and cheese enchilada. Both were great, but I think I might branch out next time. While Pepita's won't make me forget my favorite Palo Alto Mexican restaurants -- Casa Isabel and Palo Alto Sol -- I hope it will become one of my new favorite Portland restaurants.
