Doggie Palooza part II

When we were at Doggie Palooza last month, we gathered a list of pet resources. I'm listing many of them here, especially information on adopting a dog in Oregon, so I have them all in one place.

Animal Aid
Has an extensive adoption process. Street address: 5335 SW 42nd
Portland, Oregon 97221

Animal Rescue and Care Fund
Does not have a separate shelter. Many animals seem to have special needs.

Family Dogs New Life
"We are a unique, NO KILL, alternative shelter that specializes in canine adoptions." Online listing of available and adopted dogs. 9101 SE Stanley Ave
Portland, Oregon 97206, but dogs are all housed in foster care.

Indigo Rescue
"We are not a shelter and cannot accept animals from the public. Instead we offer free consultation services to independent rescuers who wish to place animals that they have found. We also, on occasion, foster animals from Washington County Animal Services." Seem to be a resource for rescuers, not an adoption service.
Indigo Rescue PO Box 554
Beaverton, OR 97075

NW Animal Companions
"Northwest Animal Companions of Oregon has dogs on display for adoption every other weekend at our Beaverton PetSmart location." PetSmart: 12375 SW Walker Rd
Beaverton, OR 97005

Oregon Dog Rescue
Takes in unwanted dogs and arranges adoptions. Provides ongoing support to new owners. Located in Tualatin.

Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals
Weekly adoptions at Petco.

Petco in Beaverton
4037 SW 117th Avenue, Suite C
Beaverton, OR 97005

Oregon Human Society
Provide adoption counselors. Online search engine of currently available pets.
