On January 31, David and I went to Kauai Island Grill for lunch. The reviews of this place either seem to be 5 star glowing accounts, or 1 star awful tales. I'm not sure what's going on. I thought the service was friendly -- the woman behind the counter was patient and smiley as we figured out our order and the man who brought out our food said goodbye as we got up after our meal -- and the food was tasty. It wasn't the best saimin I've had, but it was the only saimin I've found in Portland so far! :) Lots of fish cake too. Mmm... Hopefully we'll have positive experiences when we return.
