My actual birthday, 8/31, was rather cold and windy. We took our Seattle guests out in the Hillsboro direction for lunch at the Rock Creek Tavern, one of the historic McMenamins sites.

The interior of the tavern, dry and out of the rain. Very cosy, once we moved to a table near the fireplace. The food was fine, but I was disappointed that they didn't carry the fancy root beer I get at other McMenamins pubs. The menus all differ slightly.
