For real?

On September 6, David and I met with a realtor my parents met while looking at Portland houses. Oddly enough, she's from the Bay Area and used to live in Palo Alto, although she's been in Portland for many years. We were encouraged by this: she'll know where we're coming from, literally.

We met at her office in the Nob Hill neighborhood. The office was in a beautiful 1908 mansion. The inside reminded me of the Big Building, only, you know, nice-looking. :) We spent a long time with her, discussing options. It seems as if there are a lot of houses out there that we would like and can afford! Our next step is to drive around some of the neighborhoods she suggested and get a feel for which areas are our favorites. The real struggle here will be between my desire to be close in to the city, and David's desire to be further west, which is closer to his work and cheaper.

On the realtor's suggestion, we went for lunch at Goose Hollow Inn. It was very neighborhood pub feeling. The food was fine, even though I'm not big on sandwiches. We probably won't seek it out again, but could definitely eat there if we were in the neighborhood.

Waiting for our food.
